Kagurazaka is a historic district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Kagurazaka is easily accessible from the heart of Tokyo and is known for its many tourist attractions, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Kagurazaka dates back to the Edo period (1603-1868), and its name is said to derive from the presence of a kagura place (where rituals and dances were performed) on the slope of Kagurazaka. Visitors can still experience Japan’s history and culture in the historic buildings and traditional streetscape.
